Experience two new, 360° virtual-reality videos from HuffPost’s “Project Zero,” which documents neglected tropical diseases, including the Carter Center’s work on river blindness and lymphatic filariasis in Nigeria. A panel will discuss the challenges of eliminating the diseases worldwide and their experiences creating stories with this cutting-edge technology.

Important note on timing: Doors open at 6 p.m. Come between 6 and 7 to view the HuffPost’s brand-new 360° virtual-reality videos on special Samsung headsets or a new VR globe projector. The first 200 guests will receive free cardboard VR goggles. (The videos can’t be shown during the presentation because of the technology involved.) During the viewing period, guests also can enjoy complimentary light refreshments and a cash bar. The one-hour panel discussion will begin at 7:15. We will keep the lobby open for 45 minutes after the conversation for those who are not able to view the videos before the discussion.

Panelists:

  • Benedict Moran, award-winning journalist and independent filmmaker specializing in human rights and humanitarian emergencies
  • Dr. Frank Richards, director of the Carter Center’s River Blindness Elimination Program and Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination Program

Moderator:

  • Jo Confino, HuffPost Executive Editor of Impact & Innovation

Seating is first come, first served.
